Dear The OpEd Project,
I wanted to express my appreciation for the high quality of op-ed training I received at Arizona State University today.
Both Jennifer Block and E. J. Graff were superb facilitators. The training was not only empowering but I felt that it touched on themes that made us contemplate what it means to be human and how to get in touch with our own power and efficacy. Without trying to be hyperbolic, it was almost a religious experience, in the best sense of the word. It made us believe in ourselves, our worth, and inspired us to reach others with our knowledge, treating others with empathy and respect.
I sincerely hope more women in academe and other spheres can attend workshops like these to start to engage in public discourse to make the world a better place.
