On 31 January, Susan B. Noyes of Make It Better –a foundation, magazine and website enterprise that promotes family, community and philanthropy in the North Shore of Chicago–partnered with The OpEd Project to host a dynamic one-day seminar. Senior seminar leaders Michele Weldon and Katherine Lanpher of The OpEd Project led 20 women through the interactive curriculum, challenging and encouraging participants to claim their expertise and use their voices in broad, public conversations. Many are editors for Make It Better and some were community leaders, educators and philanthropists. Below are some pictures of the day, which included pointers on how to draft an op-ed and how to pitch editors. All concluded the day with an anchored sense of their expertise, and the impact that their public thought leadership will have on their community and the wider world. Thank you, Make It Better for the extraordinary day!
