The Public Voices Fellowship at Emory just launched this fall. Congratulations to Carlos Moreno for already publishing the first success of the year in Talking Points Memo!
Dr. Carlos Moreno is an associate professor of pathology and laboratory medicine. His piece in TPM discusses the debt deal’s negative effects on breast cancer patients and scientists. He received his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in aerospace engineering from MIT and his PhD in genetics and molecular biology from Emory. According to his page on Emory’s website, he has done extensive research in cancer, including identifying targets in cancer therapy and biomarkers in tissues from prostate, brain, breast, and ovarian cancers. He’s also written 35 peer-reviewed publications, devolved software, and is also the Co-Director of the Emory Biomaker Service Center (EBSC).
