OpEd Project Alums Take Part in First Ever Mountain Retreat

OpEd Project alums gathered at Big Trees State Park in Northern California to kick off the first ever Mountain Retreat. Participants from the Bay Area, Southern California, and as far as the East Coast joined the OpEd Project team for a three-day intensive program designed to solidify expertise, generate new ideas, learn the ins and outs of pitching, and to take a bigger picture look at legacies — why we do the work we do.

Between workshops participants hiked through the snow-covered beauty of Big Trees State Park, took time to read or work on their writing, and drew inspiration from engaging with the amazing group of women that included entrepreneurs, tech experts, authors, and university professors. Retreat sessions were led by OpEd Project Founder Katie Orenstein, and Program Manager Chelsea Carmona offered participants sage advice during a workshop on pitching.

Stay tuned for guest blog posts from retreat participants and news about future retreats!
