On Saturday, 18 women gathered at the TED offices in New York City for the OpEd Project NYC March seminar. We enjoyed one of the first beautiful days of 2014 in NYC learning from Engineers, sexual assault advocates, professors from 3 universities, toilet financiers, game-design experts and more. Guided by our fearless leaders, Zeba and Sarika, the group explored their unique expertise and what it means to be a thought leader.
Zeba said, “Let’s come back to the questions and see if we’ve answered them.” But we heard, “and see if we danced with them.” Which seems just as right — maybe even more true.
After the seminar, the group gathered at Westville Hudson for drinks and the best Bavarian pretzel sticks in town. We had lively conversation about female thought leaders, our ideas, our institutions and organizations, and more.
How fitting that the seminar took place on International Women’s Day 2014, the theme of which was “Inspiring Change.” We have no doubt that our newest NYC alumnae will do just that.
