October 9th and 10th marked the official launch of our year-long 2015-2016 University of Texas at Austin (UT Austin) Public Voices Fellowship, led by journalist-mentors, Teresa Puente and Deborah Douglas. This year’s group of 20 Fellows includes UT Austin faculty and researchers from various academic backgrounds, including 3D printing innovation, feminism and womanism in pop culture, racial politics in the Latino community, cultural differences in parenting and much more.
During lunch on the first day, we were joined by several 2014-2015 UT Austin Public Voices Fellows who passed the torch to the 2015-2016 cohort. The 2014-2015 UT Austin Fellows were one of the most prolific groups in the history of the Public Voices Initiative with a collective success rate of over 600%. We’re excited for the 2015-2016 cohort to carry on the previous group’s legacy.
A warm welcome to our 2015-2016 UT Austin thought leaders – we are thrilled to have you in the Public Voices brain trust. Onward!
